Historic sweep at the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation Gala

Winning Event of the Year and Marketing Achievement of the Year

The 8mR World Cup, held in Turku this August, achieved outstanding recognition at the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation’s annual gala, winning Event of the Year and Marketing Achievement of the Year.

In addition, the world’s first all-female 8mR team, Sailing L8dies, was awarded Team of the Year, while the organising yacht club Airisto Segelsällskap i Åbo rf  received the honour of Club of the Year, acknowledging the scale and success of this international undertaking.

The 2025 World Cup brought together iconic classic yachts, hundreds of sailors from across the globe and over 80 volunteers, making Turku the centre of international sailing for one unforgettable week. These awards underline the impact, professionalism and spirit that defined the event.
