Summary Race Day 4 (last day) World Cup 2025

Final Race Report — Sunshine, Speed, and a Castle Party

The World Cup last day kicked off in a postcard-perfect style—sunshine overhead, a steady 10–12 knots from the southeast, and just enough sparkle on the water to make even the grumpiest sailor smile. Three laps stood between the fleet and glory. The pin end of the start line was the clear favourite, with Pandora, Luna, and Anne Sophie leaping forward like they’d just spotted the bar opening early.

Yquem II absolutely owned the first upwind leg, rounding the mark with a healthy lead. Falcon and Pandora were in hot pursuit, followed by Windy and If. The downwind run turned into a full-course buffet of options—boats fanned out from shore to shore, with Luna and Severn sneaking their way toward the front thanks to some clever wind-hunting.

For most of the race the podium looked set, but Luna had other plans. On the final leg, they snuck past Falcon, sealing third place behind winners Yquem II and runners-up Pandora.

The livestream was again popular an watched by many across boarders. But as we know the most spectacular is to watch the yachts out at sea and we were so happy to see that the race course was surrounded by many, many spectator boats, everything from the big cruise boat by Saaristolinja and our Saxdor partner yachts to private sailing boats and small motorboats. This is really a sign of a successful regatta that was including the audience and builds for sailing to be more accessible in the future!

When the day’s serious business was over, the fleet headed to Forum Marinum on the Aura River for prize-giving and then the celebrations rolled right into Airisto Segelsällskap’s 160th birthday gala at Turku Castle, where sailors traded race stories, raised glasses, and celebrated a fantastic World Cup !
