Spring 1929 proceeds rapidly. The Camper&Nicholson boatyard in Gosport, England is busy finalizing two new eights. Sagitta with sistership Anthea are born. Lots of racing on the wide open Solent in the thirties. What a history. Winter 2025 turns to spring. In the Lindgren boatyard in Helsinki, Finland, the bottom of Sagitta is sanded with a special Flexicat sanding tool to create the smoothest surface. Lots of racing on the wide open Airisto in the 2025 World Cup. What a future. Sagitta has always been a successful racing machine. Clean looks. Low free board. Even lower cabin top, just to meet the rule. Quite prismatic in form, light in weight, thus optimally suited for the light to moderate Baltic summer winds. When Sagitta was purchased to Finland, it went through an extensive 6000 hr rebuild in which it was built back to original form. All steel frames were replaced - with stainless , the deck and the cabinhouse were built new and the shortened stern was rebuilt to its original length and grace. Thereafter Sagitta has actively sailed and raced around the Baltic, Germany and Norway. It has taken part in four World Cups, the best result being 4th in classic boat Sira-class, and won several Finnish National titles. Oh, and one more thing, Sagitta is and has been sailed by cheerful people of all backgrounds and kinds - it adds to the fun! We even have two teams, the race crew and the happy winds crew.
